Make Or Break

Barack Obama is scheduled to deliver what is called a "make or break" speech in Philadelphia today regarding race and his pastor, Jeremiah Wright. Wright, who has come under fire by many for what have been deemed inflammatory remarkrs, serves as Obama's spiritual leader. To many it has called Obama's judgement into question as to why he would associate himself with someone who has made such controversial statements.

One of those statements read as the following: "The government gives them drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants to sing 'God Bless America,' Wright said in a 2003 sermon that has seen much media play. "No, no, no, not 'God Bless America' -- 'God Damn America."

With the race card being played more in an already heated presidential battle it was only a matter of time before Obama would have to make such a speech. It hasn't been a good few days for the Obama campaign and today's speech might just put a stop to the presidential aspirations of the Obama campaign.
