Traditional conservatives who believed in limited taxes, limited spending, and limited intrusions into personal liberties used to be called something special….Republicans.
Now the so called “conservative republicans” stand for limited taxes, and…hmm low public polling numbers?
When the republican candidates reminded the nation that democrats were big spenders, and in favor of expanding government, Ron Paul was the sole voice reminding them that expenditures have exploded under President Bush’s administration, and that up to 2006 the republican led congress had amassed the largest budget deficit ever seen.
When the republican candidates claimed they were patriots, and that the Democrats were threatening our freedoms by not supporting the war on terror, Ron Paul was the sole voice reminding them that they had supported the Patriot Act, which gave the executive branch unprecedented powers limiting our personal freedoms.
When the republican candidates bashed Ron Paul for not supporting the war in Iraq, he reminded them that intervening in Iraq to change the composition of the Middle East was not conservative at all.
Conserve our freedoms, our money, and our dignity.
Mix it up and give Paul the Vice Presidency. At least it will be interesting.
