McCain running a surprising campaign...so far.

Most of you know I was not at all thrilled about John McCain being the republican nominee. I kicked and screamed and looked for a way to stop it from happening. It now appears that something strange is happening. John McCain is running the kind of campaign that I wanted to see our candidate run.

His first two web ads have revealed the direction he intends to go. He intends to take a nation that is down on itself and help lift it up through inspiring words and stories of his heroic past. He intends to make the case for staying the course in an unpopular war in a way that our current president was never able to do. The first two web ads have actually made me proud to have John McCain as our nominee.

If McCain sticks to his message and does not yield his principles for compromise, he will be hard to beat. Of course, we could still see the McCain of 2000 resurface, but I'm hoping he has seen the light.
