Republican Party Missing An Opportunity

With the Democratic race still hotly contested John McCain is still of course running for president. McCain has been visiting areas of the country that he claims have been forgotten, areas where voters are ignored and that the press don't cover. Why should this be any different?

I commend McCain for making these trips but couldn't these trips have been made when he was just a senator? Not to say that these trips are not important but they do little to sure up the GOP Base or attract any independent voters that will be critical to any November election victory.

McCain will have to work twice as hard this election just because by all accounts this just won't be a GOP year, but it could. McCain should be utilizing more the disarray amongst the Democrats right now and he's not doing that; the man is a maverick but how about a political fighter too.
