Wright is Wrong (again)...

He’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

In a press conference held on Monday, Rev. Jeremiah Wright stated that the criticisms made against him and his sermons were truly an attack on the “black church”. Additionally, he fights back against criticism that he is unpatriotic or un- American, statements made against him after his shocking statements regarding Sept. 11.

He states that he served his country and thus cannot possibly be anti-American or considered un-patriotic. He then goes on to ask “how many years Dick Cheney served” --- First of all, although serving our country should always be recognized and respected, there is a great difference between those who serve to protect our freedoms and those who serve and belittle our nation. John Kerry served and fought in Vietnam, then he later came back with the medals he had received and threw them at the White House. Does that make him less patriotic---absolutely! Secondly, my question to Wright is: How many years has Barrack Obama served? Or Hillary? Before you question the leaders of our nation sir, look to the people who you are backing.

He later goes on to play the race card stating that the majority of America will never know the struggles of the black church…here is the assumptive fallacy that really ticks me off. He lumps everyone who is not black into one category- not black. He ignores everything else. He forgets that we live in America, one of the most ethnically diverse nations in the world. As a Hispanic female, I recognize (as does the majority of the nation) that Hispanics are now the majority minority in this country. Hispanics, Mexican-Americans especially, were just as much a part of the civil rights movement (Cesar Chavez) as the members of the black community during the 60's. We all fought on the same side to achieve the same thing. Yet, because we are again, not black, we do not matter, nor does the rest of “not black” America.

This is the exact type of separatist mentality that makes Wright wrong and unfit to inspire anyone who truly seeks spiritual enlightenment.

We are all Gods children, regardless of race or ethnicity or have you forgotten that Rev. Wright?
