HELP SEAN SULLIVAN GET TO CONGRESS

I am currently working for Sean Sullivan the candidate that is running against Congressman Joe Courtney in Connecticut's 2nd District. In 2006, this was the closest election in the country with Courtney beating GOP Congressman Rob Simmons by just 83 votes. Please go to Sean's website, tell your friends and if you can make a donation! We need all the support we can get. Courtney is getting special interest PAC money from DC and is outspending our campaign more than 10-1. Please consider making a donation, you can help make a difference and help elect a great man to the Congress. http://www.sullivan2008.com/

Courtney is outspending your campaign 10 to 1 because Sullivan has proven he is completely inept as a fundraiser...I don't see how a candidate's success as a fundraiser is something that hurts them. Rather, I would think that it would bolster their claims of electability. Hope you let this post go up and grace it with a reply!

Sean Sullivan is a principled leader with integrity and character. Maybe the Democrat party believes that just because you're friends with the monied elite, have nice little cocktail parties with cucumber martinis and wealthy lobbyists give big checks to you means you should be in Congress.

Well, this is America goddamnit, and not everyone agrees with this offensive elitism!!

That argument is patently illogical.

1) My original post did not question Sean Sullivan's character, thus it has no bearing on the argument. I do believe however, that Mr. Courtney and Mr. Sullivan are both men of principle and integrity.

2) Your suggestion that "the Democrat party believes that just because you're friends with the monied elite, have nice little cocktail parties with cucumber martinis and wealthy lobbyists give big checks to you means you should be in Congress." is a classic example of rhetorical card-stacking.

There is nothing of factual basis in your summation of the alleged beliefs of Democrats in the above statement. The last time I checked none of it was included in the party platform.

3)The real problem with your reply to my post is that you don't offer any explanation for Sullivan's inability to fundraise. If Sean Sullivan is going to be a viable candidate in today's political arena, he needs to be able to fundraise.

4) I am not proposing the argument that fundraising is directly tied to a candidate's ability to perform as an able and effective legislator, that would be absurd.

That being said, I think the ability to amass funding for an effective campaign is a strong indicator of a candidate's ability to organize themselves, and displays that their message is being well recieved by the constituents.

Challengers to the incumbent rarely succeed in raising more money, but I would argue that to be competitive, they would have to do better than Sullivan is doing.
