As Obama and Clinton were finishing their campaigning in Indiana and North Carolina, Senator McCain also decided to stop by for a speech on one of the most important responsibilities of the President of the United States: Appointing Supreme Court Justices.
Senator McCain laid out the reasons why he put forward the Gang of 14. Although I was against it at first, his idea won me over after the Alito hearings. He also stated his vision of future Supreme Court Justices being in the mold of John Roberts. We had Senator Obama claiming that although Chief Justice Roberts was qualified and had the correct temperament, he should not be on the Supreme Court. This reeking of a search for judicial activism is one more reason why we conservatives should rally behind Senator McCain for President of the United States.
