Obama's Fairytales: "My Uncle Liberated Auschwitz"

UPDATE: Since this posting, FoxNews has covered this story.

It was a moment the media will likely not cover and you will probably not find anywhere but here on the blogosphere. Barack Obama is now claiming to have had an uncle that liberated Auschwitz. Here's the video, so's all you liberals don't think we're making this up.

That would be impressive, except it sounded a little bit peculiar to our friends over at Ace of Spades. Their Purple Avenger points out some interesting facts:
Auschwitz of course is in Poland. It was liberated by the Red Army on Jan 27 1945. Poland, on most maps is usually placed to the east of Germany, although we may need to investigate the geography textbooks the Messiah used as a child...

The Allies were wrapping up the battle of the bulge in late January of 1945 -- the Rhine crossings were still well into the future when Auschwitz was liberated. The first, the Remagen railway bridge which was discovered intact, was crossed on March 7 1945.

Of course it goes without saying that the media has thus far failed to call the Messiah on this apparently obviously outrageous lie. Unless Obama's "uncle" was serving in the Red Army, its a pretty safe bet he was many hundreds of miles from Auschwitz on its day of liberation.
Oh. My. GAWD! Does it never end with this guy? Someone do some fact checking to see if this man even has an uncle. I have a hunch he made that up, too. Unfortunately, Scott "I Crave Attention" McClellan's book is getting all of the coverage. Oh well. This, too, will come out in time.

Big thanks to Justin Higgins at ROTR.

The Obama campaign already apologized..."Yesterday he mistakenly referred to Auschwitz instead of Buchenwald in telling of his personal experience of a soldier in his family who served heroically," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton..."Burton said in the statement that Obama's great uncle served in the 89th Infantry Division that entered Germany in 1945 and on April 4 overran Ohrdruf, a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp."

It's not so much about fact checking as much as they simply think the American people are dumb enough to believe whatever they say...when in fact the other half of America, the half that knows whats actually going on are in fact Republicans.
