I was going to title this post "Bend Over, America", but I didn't want to upset the gays.
So, by this time I'm sure most of us were expecting to be paying nearly $1 a gallon again for gas and the last of our troops would be coming in from Iraq. Well, at least that's what we were promised by the new Democrat majority in Congress. Instead, their planned retreat from Iraq has (thankfully) failed numerous times and since taking control of Congress, gas prices have risen more than $.50 a gallon. Is anyone allowed to say these things in the media? It doesn't look like it judging from the most recent coverage. Congress's approval ratings continue to dip to the lowest in its history, making it even more despised than President Bush.
But you wouldn't know that judging from the last three special Congressional elections, in which Democrats have snatched previously long-time Republican seats from the GOP's grasp. So what's the deal? Could it be that the American people simply aren't paying attention? Or, are they paying attention to the wrong news? After months of being told the economy was in a recession, we found out the economy actually grew in the first quarter of 2008. And since they couldn't lie about that anymore, the media began to whine that in April the Dow Jones had dipped to its lowest levels since...last April!! Ahhh!!
Never in the history of America have a group of well-off, liberal media elites done so well at convincing Americans they were doing so poorly. And so now we get more of the same old liberal fix-it policies like the "millionaire surcharge", which suspiciously encompasses people who are not millionaires. I blame this primarily on liberals' inability to count zeros. And don't forget about Barack's brilliant plan to double the tax on capital gains which would effectively raise taxes on 100,000,000 Americans. (For all you liberals, that's one hundred million)
Our only hope is that the Democrat primary drags on long enough to keep people's attention off of our own sham of a nominee.
Hold your nose, America. This one's gonna be a stinker.

Why would the liberal media tell the truth? Russ, I wish you would stop living in this fantasty world where everyone sings "Hairspray" and the media reports on what is actually going on, regardless of how stupid it makes democrats look...
Hairspray is a fantastic musical, Katy, and maybe one day it just might not be a "fantasy world" and we can all live in 1950s Baltimore, sing all day long, be fat but still peppy, and get Zac Efron in the end. Don't deny us our dreams!!
Call me bitter...because I've been singing "Good Morning Baltimore!" everymorning when I wake up in my San Antonio apartment and I've not seen Link Larkin yet! :(
