Democrats and the Politics of Division

The Democrat reaction to McCain's choice of Palin has revealed their vicious nature. Some of them have really lost it (Andrew Sullivan circulates a smear that she's a "bad mother," Ben Smith makes a tenuous, desperate allegation that Palin hates Jews, Far-lefties at Think "Progress" ridicules her for looks and having appeared in a beauty pageant).

All this divisiveness and hate from the left has me thinking. If you're like me, you have been personally affected by the vicious, violent hate exhibited by the leftist partisans. (I saw one of them rip of my windshield wiper in 2005 because he didn't like my Bush-Cheney bumpersticker).

~ WARNING: Political satire follows ~

We cannot allow these sectarian divisions in America. Americans are, obviously, not mature and tolerant enough to coexist in peace and harmony, despite our differences. I propose that America be partitioned into three separate, new nations. One will be for white Democrats, another for black Democrats, and the third for Republicans (Democrats despise black Republicans, so Republicans will grant them political asylum in our new Nation). Only through this division (we'll build walls) and partition can we eschew our cultural/political conflicts to attain unity and peaceful coexistence.

Wait, you say, that's ridiculous and offensive! Hmmmm.. I guess it is. That also happens to be Joe Biden's plan for Iraq.

Biden fought the surge. He called it a "tragic mistake." What was his plan to deal with extremist violence in Iraq? Acquiescence to and accommodation of the violent extremists! Biden advocated partitioning the country into three new nations - one for Sunnis, one for Shiites and another for Kurds. He refused to believe that Iraqis could live together despite their religious, cultural, and political differences. He refused to believe that Iraqis of all backgrounds could come together and work out their problems in a civil and democratic manner.

Biden was wrong.

Republicans shouldn't be put on the defensive by Barack Obama's ignorant rhetoric on foreign policy. Obama and Biden made a tragic mistake by fighting the surge, the only thing that gave the world hope for a united Iraq. When it matters, they let us down.

Democrats aren't the only ones that advocated partitioning Iraq. In the 2006 election Kay Bailey Hutchison also proposed partitioning Iraq. It spreads both ways.
