The Winning Ticket

Senior officials from McCain Camp have confirmed that Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin will be McCain's running mate.

Considered to be a Republican Maverick (much like McCain), Palin defeated incumbent Gov. Frank Murkowski to claim her current position, which she has held for the last two years. She is the states first female Governor and will be the country's first female Vice-President.

At age 44 Palin is younger than both Obama and Biden and is the mother of five children. Foxnews reportso n Palin's family and work ethic stating: "Sarah and Todd Palin have five children: boys Track, 19, and Trig, 4 months, and daughters Bristol, 17, Willow, 13, and Piper, 7. Track Palin joined the Army last September and will deploy to Iraq on Sept. 11. Palin had kept her pregnancy with Trig a secret as she worked in the governor’s mansion, confirming only weeks before the birth that she was going to have a son who she knew would have Down syndrome. She returned to work in April three days after giving birth."

After hearing about the selection senior officials from Camp Obama said the following:
“After making experience a central issue of the race, McCain picks, on his 72nd birthday, a peron who 3 years ago was the part-time mayor of a city in Alaska with a population of about 8,000 - that’s 1/20th the size of Obama’s state Senate district. That virtually takes the experience argument off the table. She’s also complimented Obama’s energy plan and is under investigation in her own state for pressuring the firing of a relative from the state safety department.”

Here is an interesting point on both VP picks (an obvious one, but one that should be address either way):

McCain, full of experience, picked a relative new-comer because of her conservative credibility, her youth, and gender. McCain's got the experience to stand on his own, but not the tabula rasa style that Obama has to address the change American (apparently) so desperately wants. Additionally, the support system that worked tirelessly to support Hillary, may still have a chance to see a woman in the White House, not simply as First Lady. (And lets face it she is WAY cuter than Hillary)

Obama, lacking on the experience (aside from those pesky 143 days in Congress), but so desperate to give American change picked Joe Biden! Who has been around for 758 years (or so it seems) and is the very epitome of the same Washington that has been around for decades...why? Because someone on his ticket has to 'know what their doing'.

The Problem: After Obama announced his VP pick, polls indicated a drop in Obama's support.
Typically, the candidate receives a boost in popularity during the week of their convention. This was strike two for Obama. He remained relatively tied with McCain leading up to his speech, which was delivered yesterday. Currently, Obama leads McCain by 6 pts...considering the margin of error that lowers him to 4 percentage points the day following his " I will do everything in the White House from ending war, bringing troops home, curing cancer, ending disease and famine while wearing a fabulous suit the entire time...thanks Donatella" speech.

Let's face it, beyond the hype, hypocrisy, and empty suits, Barry isn't doing so hot.

I am excited to see how the public will receive Palin and the polls for tomorrow.

Barry wouldn't date have Hillary on his ticket and he has seen first hand the outcome of his actions...

Congratulations to John McCain and Sarah Palin who did what democrats only spoke of doing---
