Cult Of Obama Resorts To Chanting

Okay, this is priceless. Via Hot Air:
now they’re content to chant his holy name and gaze adoringly at giant posters of him. I like the fact that they start off talking about policy and then just sort of give up as the chanting takes hold and the platitudes issueth forth. And to think, Hillary calls him a blank slate onto which people can project whatever they want. Takeaway line: “I would like to see us in a world without fear.”

And now the video. Don't make any attempt to adjust your speakers; they are actually singing his name. Its almost like they're a real cult!:

To quote one Hot Air reader, "Like, OMIGOD, he could like totally be, like, the president."

This video is truly disgusting. This is political idolatry unlike any other we have seen. And as ordinary Americans recognize its looniness, it will be our truest way to victory.

Clinton Banks It

Hillary Clinton announced the other day that she has raised $35million in the last fiscal quarter. According to the Obama campaign they have gone onto raise $50million for the same period. The interesting thing that has come about the whole fundraising has been that Clinton's online donations had most recently soured, that is until she gave her own campaign $5million.

For whatever reason it was this moment that led to her supporters throwing in the dough. The amount of contributions mostly were in the $100 range and below, meaning that if Clinton gets the nomination she will be able to rely on these folks to continue to bank roll her campaign.

One last note: John McCain has been consistently raising $1 a day since the NY Times story broke, huh! Wouldn't ya know?

Republicans Supporting Barack Obama? Puh-leez!

My friend, John, as avid a liberal as there ever was, felt compelled to email me this little number in an apparent attempt to prepare me for a massive tidal wave of defectors from the GOP to Barack Obama's camp. 'Tis true that some Republicans are supporting Obama...for now. These are no doubt fair weather Republicans, far detached from those of us embattled within the trenches of primary politics. They, like so many others, have fallen victim to Obambi's "Change, Hope, Rinse and Repeat" campaign method.

However, I have faith that these conservatives, no matter how naive, will eventually learn the truth of the Messiah's record, what little of it there is. What do you think the voting public will say, for instance, when they find out the Messenger of Hope believes in a right to live birth abortions? Perhaps this type of information can help explain Mr. Obama's unfavorable rating having increased by seven points in just one month.

In any case, before our liberal friends become so giddy over a few brain dead Republicans jumping ship, perhaps they could account first for the 43 percent of Americans who say they will definitely not be voting for Obambi in November. With numbers like these, I believe it is safe to say that most Republicans are sticking to their values, and most Americans are not falling for the empty rhetoric of a two-bit senator like so many other helpless sheep.

Not that any of this would keep people like John from voting for Obama. But it would certainly keep any good Republican and many Americans away.

When Democrats and Ethics Collide

A story today in the International Herald Tribune chronicles the contentious passage of strict new ethics legislation in Louisiana. Given the state's reputaion, I regard this as nothing less than a miracle on par with the virgin birth. Congratulations to GOP wunderkind, Governor Bobby Jindal for pulling it off.

The new ethics rules were not without their detractors, though. Of course I shouldn't even have to note that they were democrats. The portion of the legislation which prohibits lobbyists from purchasing individual meals for legislators that cost more than $50.00 drew the ire of Representative Charmaine Marchand. The IHT reports that Ms. Marchand "said the limit would force her and her colleagues to dine at Taco Bell."

I hate to wear my middle-class status on my sleeve, but I am very proud of the fact that I can feed myself for a minimum of two and a half weeks on $50.00 flat. It also begs the question: how many Big Bell Value Meals does Ms. Marchand (left) stuff in her face before she's adequately sated?

President Bush's Africa Trip

Many have derided President Bush as a divisive figure who doesn't care about any country other than the United States. This piece in Time Magazine would definitely refute those people. The humanitarian efforts President Bush has taken toward Africa is more than any President in history.

Isn't it funny how you don't read these stories in most media outside of a blip saying, "Bush was in Africa this week while he is still extremely unpopular and hates puppies."

Welcome, Aaron Schwitters

Right Up Front is pleased to introduce or newest RUF Writer, Aaron Schwitters, who has finally joined the team after months of intense negotiations and backroom dealings. So, here's a welcome and thank you to Aaron, whose first column should be published shortly.

Obama On Military Spending and Foreign Policy

Via R408, meet the man who could be our next Commander-in-Chief: This guy wants to be the President of the United States? He must be joking. This type of liberal lunacy is exactly what we do not need in a dangerous world filled with dangerous men armed with dangerous weapons.

He promises to halt progress on "unproven missile systems", just like the one that just successfully shot down a satellite.

He wants to slow our development of future combat systems, because, of course, there will be no conflict upon election of the Messiah.

He wants to set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To accomplish this he will disarm America voluntarily, while asking the United Nations to ban all fissile material. The same United Nations who who issue(d) condemnation after condemnation of Sadaam Hussein, Kim Jong Il, and other tyranical despots around the globe with no way of enforcement.

He speaks of talks with Russia in an effort to disarm our ICBMs just as Russia prepares to take another giant step backward toward the old Soviet Union. For all you kids out there, the Soviet Union was an evil empire that America fought tooth and nail for a half-century to defeat. And so naturally, he wants to weaken America to ease the bellyaching of our soon-to-be newest enemy. His is a policy of complete and total unilateral disarmament to show the world a little bit of good will in order to appease our enemies while betraying our friends.

Evil isn't just some historic thing that America defeated a long time ago and we can all forget about now. But don't tell that to Barack Obama, who apparently feels like every evil in the world is only the product of a conservative and active foreign policy that will surely abate upon his election.

This is a video of nothing but inexperienced pacifism pandering to young peaceniks who were never taught history, or didn't care to learn. Well, Senator, not all of us slept through history. And we know better.

Barack Obama's Accomplishments: One

Its called the "Name One" game, and we've been playing for a quite a while here on Right Up Front, trying to name just one of Barack Obama's Accomplishments. We have chronicled the failure of Obama supporters to name one here, here, and here. It finally took Obama's opponents to find an accomplishment. And they did. Just one. Thanks to Hot Air for uncovering this incredibly insightful ad.
So does this mean the game is over now? That makes me sad...

National Polls Look Good In McCain vs. Obama Match

Despite my worries that John McCain would face hardships against Barack Obama, it appears that many Americans are not head over heals for the canonical presidential canidate from Illinois. According to a recent Rasmussen survey of likely voters, a full 43% say they will definitely not be voting for Barack Obama, compared to 34% who say the same of McCain. The same report shows Obama's negative rating having risen by a whopping seven points in just one month.

The latest Rasmussen report released today indicates there is even more good news. From NRO:
-McCain now leads Obama 46% to 43% and Clinton 48% to 43%.

-Obama is viewed favorably by 51% and unfavorably by 46%. McCain’s numbers are 55% favorable, 42% unfavorable.

-Clinton earns positive reviews from 47% of Likely Voters nationwide and negative assessments from 52%.

-McCain is trusted more by 55% of voters when it comes to National Security issues. Obama is trusted more by just 30% on this point. Just half (51%) of Democrats express more trust in Obama than McCain on national security. Unaffiliated voters prefer McCain by a two-to-one margin.

-On Iraq, McCain has a much smaller advantage—49% trust McCain while 39% prefer Obama.
When it comes to the economy, 45% prefer McCain while 39% trust Obama more.
This is absolutely glowing news for John McCain, especially since it is fresh, and includes at least some, if not all, of the impact of the lobbying "scandal". This does not, however, likely show us the impact of his recent campaign financing debacle, which should blow over with no problem for him. It will certainly go away long before November.

So far, 2008 is not looking to be the sure thing that Democrats were hoping for, and I suspect they will begin making typical mistakes sometime this summer as panic begins to set in. With Barack Obama as the likely nominee and his only strenth (his rhetoric) being effectively used against him, we just might surprise ourselves this November. And if the presidential margin is big enough and Congressional disapproval continues, you can look for gains in the House and Senate as well.

Too cheery an outlook? Maybe not.

Freudian Slip?

For anyone following Texas politics aside from the roaring Texas debates of Obama and Clinton may have taken a moment to notice something...a bit of a Freudian slip from a local elected official.

State Senator Eddie Lucio, III was introducing B. Hussein Obama at UTPA last week and mentioned that Senator Obama would be the honorary "first Latino president" and said Obama had marched with the "ignor---immigrants".

Whoops.

Word on the street is Bill Clinton will be at UTPA on Monday.

Hide your interns.

Why is Mike Huckabee still running?

Huckabee's appearance on SNL last week added another layer of mystery to the question of why he is still in the race. On the show Mike Huckabee essentially admitted that he can't win and even made a joke of the whole thing. So what is he up to?

Huckabee to NY Times: Take Me On!

Mike Huckabee, whose candidacy seems to be more of a farewell tour reminiscent of Cher, was quoted on ABC News as saying: "Obviously, that one didn't seem to make a big difference. In fact, if anything it's helped John McCain and I'm kind of hoping the New York Times will take me on and run a nasty front page story -- may be the best thing that could happen to me, certainly was to him."

Huckabee, if anything, believes as many Republicans do that the New York Times piece has actually helped McCain who even got a little support from Rush Limbaugh (Remember him? The big Fat Idiot). He also keenly recognizes that one word can have a huge difference.

"One word can end a guy's political career, one word, and it's over," Huckabee elaborated. "So when people say I can't be the nominee, until we get to the convention in Minneapolis this fall in September, we don't know absolutely, positively who that nominee is."

Even Obama Thinks He Lacks Experience

So it turns out that even Barrack Obama has doubts about his ability and readiness to be president. The following video is a big deal, because if Obama was convinced he lacked the know-how to be president back then, it is and should be incumbent upon him to explain what has changed since then that now makes him ready. Of course, as Hot Air points out, this was before he realized he was the Messiah.Videos like this one only serve to undermine his candidacy, and I'm all too happy to do my part in derailing that particular locomotive sooner rather than later. As word of his live birth abortion stance and own self doubts begin to make their way to the surface, he will surely see his numbers fall even further (his unfavorable rating has risen seven points in just one month).

I'm beginning to look forward to this general election.

General Election McCain

“I will fight every moment of every day in this campaign to make sure Americans are not deceived by an eloquent but empty call for change that promises no more than a holiday from history and a return to the false promises and failed policies of a tired philosophy that trusts in government more than people." Not bad Senator.

I was concerned that John McCain was going to fall in to the same "just words" trap as Hillary Clinton, but McCain seems to be balancing attacks on Obama's rhetorical strength and his extreme liberalism. If John McCain has any chance of winning in November, he needs to make the voters see just how far to the left Barrack Obama is. It also could help to throw the experience argument in to the mix somehow.

What's most important, however, is that he avoid being compared to President Bush. John McCain has aligned himself closely with Bush policies and is not exactly the maverick outsider that he was in 2000. Just as he was in 2006, George Bush is a losing point for the GOP in 2008. There have been criticisms from many republicans for not standing behind our president. My answer to them is that we can't afford to stand by our president until after the general election. To Senator McCain and any other 2008 GOP candidates, I would say admire George Bush all you want, take his support but do it without ever mentioning his name. The calls for change are at Jimmy Carter levels. Stay away from President Bush.

Romney for Congress?

According to the Deseret Morning News, Josh Romney, son of former presidential candidate Mitt Romney is considering a bid for congress against Utah Democrat Jim Matheson. Romney said he was approached by Utah republicans to run for the seat after his father's campaign ended.

When pressed about the issue, Romney said he "hadn't ruled it out". He said that he was young and experienced on the campaign trail and could probably count on his father's Utah supporters backing his campaign.

The question for Romney seemed to be whether or not he was willing to start another grueling campaign and take more time away from his wife and three children. In my experience, when a candidate refuses to "rule out" a race, they've made up their mind to run. Could this be the beginning of the next political dynasty?

Obama-Hillary Dispute Ends In Stabbing

The debate between Obama and Clinton supporters has surpassed mindless fainting and useless rhetoric and has drifted right into pure homicidal rage. A dispute between two brothers-in-law got into quite a rift, apparently trying to decide rather being First Lady or the Messiah was most important in a presidential candidate. The fray left one in the hospital and one heading to prison.
Authorities said brother-in-laws Jose Ortiz and Sean Shurelds were involved in a verbal altercation over Democratic presidential hopefuls Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton when the argument escalated into a stabbing inside their family home on Honey Locust Court in Upper Providence.

Authorities said Ortiz, a registered Republican and Clinton supporter, allegedly stabbed Shurelds, an Obama supporter, in the stomach.
I'm not sure what this does for the Obama's supporter's "hope", but I would imagine he will still be voting for the Great Leader, Obambi.

Clinton Blows It With Obama Turbin Photo

UPDATE: The Clinton Camp is, of course, denying any involvement in or knowledge of the picture being circulated.

After two straight days of passionate, hard hitting talk that I feel could have been effective, the Clinton campaign as effectively blown its chances of seeming sincere and viable. Today's lead headline on Drudge is that Clinton staffers have been circulating this:The photo of Obama, dressed in a turbin during a 2006 Congressional trip to Africa, is being used as a scare tactic to sway voters toward Clinton. But this photo will instead have the effect of making the followers of the Great Leader coalesce behind him, for when it comes to their Messiah, it matters not if he wears a halo or a turbin, as long as the message is full of hope and uplifting nonsense.

With this photo, I'm calling this game for Obama.

Hillary Tries On Sarcasm

I like this side of Hillary better. Its funny, its hard hitting, and it hits Barack Obama's strong point...his rhetoric.

Hillary: "Shame On You Barack"

Well, well. It seems Mrs. Clinton has finally found her voice, and this time its not through the hazy mist of teary eyes. She is hitting back hard against Senator Obambi, who has virtually run away with the Democrat nomination. Perhaps if she'd had this kind of fire in the belly sooner, the inexperienced, underaccomplished messenger of hope wouldn't be so assured of the Democrat nod.

Ralph Nader for President!

Ralph Nader, the third party presidential candidate credited by many with handing the 2000 election to George W. Bush, has decided to try his luck for a third time at presidential politics. Citing people's frustration with both the Democrat and Republican parties, Nader says now is his big chance to make a difference. Well, I sure as hell am excited about it, and I can't wait to see what kind of devastating effect this will have on the Democrats in November.

Still, some people aren't so sure that Nader's entry will benefit the GOP so much. Justin Higgins gives his take on ROTR:
The truth of the matter is, he didn't spoil anything back in 2000. The people that voted for Nader would've stayed home, because they didn't like either George Bush or Al Gore. The idea that Nader supporters would've all went Democrat is factually ludicrous. Welcome to the fun again Ralphie.
Unfortunately for Democrats, I don't think its that simple this year. People this year are desperate for something different and something new. We can prove this by pointing to the otherwise unexplainable candidacy of Barack Obama. For all of the ultra left wing loones out there for whom voting for Obama was just settling, Ralph Nader will offer the type of drastic reform rhetoric that they are hunting for. In this way, I most certainly do believe that Nader's candidacy will help the GOP.

Huckabee Sets Sights on 2012

The recent chatter from the Huckabee campaign has indicated that they do not expect to keep John McCain from being the republican nominee. The campaign still contends that they can force a brokered convention, but in the plainest language yet, Campaign Chairman Ed Rollins said today "At the end of the day we'll do everything we can to help John McCain in the fall." Rollins noted that McCain would be 72 years old upon entering office and said that Huckabee would be at the top of the list of candidates in 2012 should McCain lose or decide not to run again.

There has been a lot of discussion about Mike Huckabee's strange decision to stay in the race. It would appear now that Huckabee is trying to solidify himself as the alternative for to those who are not happy with John McCain and in turn set himself up for 2012.

In the end I think Huckabee is turning himself in to a bit of a punch line. Had he dropped out after the Potomac primaries he would have been ideally positioned both for running mate status and for next in line in 2012. At the very latest Huckabee needs to get out immediately after Texas. Even Ron Paul has realized that this nomination contest is over. Move on Mike.

Attacks on McCain Help Campaign

When the story broke in the New York Times alledging that John McCain had behaved improperly in the 2000 campaign with a lobbyist eyebrows were raised. Specifically, how could someone who has staked his life in honorable public service actually be the complete opposite. But when both John McCain and lobbyist Vicki Iseman, who lobbies for the cruise industry, 100% denied the story even more eyebrows were raised.

The Times Story which featured at least 4 reporters on it seems more to be a case of "let's get John McCain" and less of one that wants to report facts. The very notion that they used many off the record sources gives little credit to the story furthering conservatives' and others' belief that the Times plays loose with the facts.

Many heads of news organizations including Time Magazine have stated that with the information provided that they would indeed not run the piece. But there does seem to be a ray of light at the end of the tunnel here; McCain's fundraising has brought in $2million since the story broke and in many conservatives eyes demonstrates his credentials as an authentic conservative. Clearly as some conservatives believe, the Times would not attack McCain if he in fact was not a real conservative.

Liberal Media Can't See Success In Iraq

Yesterday, Iraqi cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr announced he was extending his cease-fire for another six months, thus helping to insure further peace and extended security throughout Iraq. This is great news, of course, and is further proof that the hard work and dedication of our troops in Iraq is paying off and that we continue to reap the benefits of the surge that Harry Reid declared a failure after just weeks.

When I heard the news I thought I had read an article that had predicted al-Sadr would end the ceasefire, but I was unable to find it. So I assumed I had been mistaken. But now, via Hot Air, I found out why.
Yesterday, Reuters posted a story entitled “Sadr Expected to End Truce”, implying it was likely that Iraqi Shiite leader Muqtada al Sadr would end his Mahdi Army’s six-month ceasefire in Iraq. I can’t offer the URL of that story because once their cynical prediction was proved immediately wrong (today, Sadr announced that he’d be extending the ceasefire another six months) the link started bringing me to a new Reuters story entitled (surprise, surprise) “Iraqi Cleric Sadr Extends Militia Ceasefire.” Soon after that, the original headline disappeared from internet searches altogether.
So there you have it, folks. Predict disaster and then hide in the corner when it blows up in your face. Welcome to the future, my dear RUF Riders. A time when news story simply disappear when proven to be totally inaccurate and fabricated. There was a time when predicting and encouraging failure and defeat for our armed forces was likened to treason and the American people would have stood up in outrage. But now we simply take it, digest it, and resummon the information upon command.

The bottom line is that the liberal press simply cannot come to terms with the fact that success in Iraq is now within our grasp. Have you read or seen much about Iraq in the newspapers or on the television recently? Of course you haven't. And that means success.

Vote Republican. Vote for Victory.

Stupid Independents

I will begin with a general warning. If you consider yourself an "independent" voter, then either discontinue reading this column or prepare yourself to be at least moderately offended. Other than that, just shut up.

I have long been perplexed by these "independent" voters, who apparently lack any true principles or rational cause-effect type of logic. I have been frustrated by their fence sitting for years, but it was only last night that my frustration boiled over into sheer contempt. While speaking with a coworker it was explained to me what a difficult decision it was to choose a candidate. I was certain she was speaking of trying to choose between Barack and Hillary, but I was in for a big surprise.

"I just can't decide who I like more; John McCain or Barack Obama." After getting off the ground and recovering from hysterical laughter I realized she was serious. Clarence Claus at Race42008.com gives his take, calling Independents "tools of the press".
When I first heard that Independents may have been undecided between Obama and McCain, it made little sense to me. How could someone be undecided between two candidates who are so opposite? McCain is pro-Iraq War. Obama is anti-war. McCain is old and experienced. Obama is young and inexperienced. They also have little in common on domestic issues. Someone explained to me that Independents like candidates that talk about bringing both sides together and stuff like that. It’s like they want to pretend that everybody agrees on everything and that issue differences are just petty bickering and not of any substance. I still didn’t completely understand the thought process. Do swing voters try and size up which candidate from each party is the most wishy-washy and then vote in the primary where they can have the most impact getting a wishy-washy person nominated.
Good point, I think. Independents, at their core, are spineless wimps, who either lack principles worth standing for or are too scared to stand up at all. They loathe debate and public discourse and they yearn for the day when no one disagrees on anything, when we all just get along. They imagine a day when pro-life people acquiesce and allow the unborn to be murdered. Or perhaps when pro-choicers allow a woman's sacred right to choose to be taken away. They imagine a day when conservatives decide high taxes are ok, or when liberals believe tax cuts work. They dream of a future filled with Republicans giving in with a smile to socialized healthcare, or liberals happily abandoning their mission for European style universal medicine. In short, they wish for partisans to abandon what they believe in all for the sake of soothing the aching consciences of independents everywhere.

Ridiculous. The only explanation is that they are spineless, unprincipled idiots.

SHOCK: Elderly Woman Bites Senator Obama

Just kidding, I just thought this was a funny picture.

Why Is Obama Beating Clinton?

I never thought I would ever hear myself say this, but I found myself discussing this with a coworker tonight while arranging DVD's. I feel bad for Hillary Clinton.

She is running against a man whose life in public policy runs the course of less than ten years. He has no major accomplishments to speak of, as we have demonstrated at length on this blog. He has repeatedly made comments that strongly indicate he will acquiesce to the wishes of dictators and despots around the globe and sit down for tea with most of America's most vocal enemies.

Putting aside her completely mismanaged campaign and early (and blatant) arrogance, she is the most qualified Democrat remaining in the field. While not directly in charge, she has observed first hand the work of a governor and a president and no doubt played the role of a critical adviser to her husband, and she has been a United States senator for nearly a decade; or, as long as Obambi has held elected office his entire life. So why is Hillary losing? I think I have figured it out.

Democrats were faced with a rather odd decision this year. One well qualified candidate (as far as Democrats go) but who will surely lose in a general election. And on the other hand a terribly unqualified, unprecedentedly unprepared candidate but nontheless one who gives a pretty speech and can beat John McCain the evil...moderate. Given that choice, they have decided they will go for broke and join up with the novice. Politically speaking I can't say that I blame them. Principally, however, it is appalling.

Obama Wanted For Corruption

Barrack Obama has made the Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians list by Judicial Watch, a nonpartisan public interest group (their list also includes Republicans Larry Craig, Rudy Giuliani, Scooter Libby and Mike Huckabee). According to the list:
A “Dishonorable Mention” last year, Senator Obama moves onto the “ten most wanted” list in 2007. In 2006, it was discovered that Obama was involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin “Tony” Rezko. In 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company’s shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law.
None of this will sway the affection that the cult members have for their Great Leader. But all the same, if you have not sipped the proverbial kool aid yet, then this information may be of interest to you.

"Senator, You're No Jack Kennedy"

Many people have been comparing Barrack Obama with John F. Kennedy, another young, enthusiastic presidential candidate. This seems logical on the surface, but then again, everything looks good on the surface when it comes to Obama. But chew on that bubble gum long enough and the sweetness will go away.

Such is the essence of Kavon W. Nikrad's recent column, and he thoroughly exposes Obama for the inexperienced, two bit politician that he is. Never before has a presidential campaign been built on nothing more than so much pure personal ambition.
Barack Obama has been a U.S. Senator for exactly 3 years and 2 months. Prior to that, he served as an Illinois State Senator for 6 years.

I reside a mere half-mile from my own state senator, Ann Rest. I can tell you that I hope pray that the Lord will help us all if Ann Rest is running Western Civilization in 3 years and 2 months. Prior to that, Obama was an associate attorney with Miner, Barnhill & Galland from 1993 to 1996, he represented community organizers, discrimination claims, and voting rights cases. If elected, no President would have assumed the office with so thin a resume since the 19th Century.

Many folks mistakenly compare Obama’s thin resume with another young Senator who ran for President - John F. Kennedy. By the time JFK entered the White House at the relatively young age of 43, Kennedy was a decorated war hero (having been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal as well as the Purple Heart), won the Pulitzer Prize, served three terms in the House, and 8 years in the Senate. Obama is clearly no Jack Kennedy.
No matter. It surely will not cause pause in the support of any of Obama's cult members. They are devoted to the Great Leader and will sacrifice anything, even America, to see him exhaulted.

Obama Blows, Cult Whoas!

They certainly do love him. Even his phlegm is worth at least a golfer's clap. John McCormick at The Swamp has the story.
And about a half-hour into a speech here, the Illinois Democrat announced that he had to take a quick break. "Gotta blow my nose here for a second," Obama said.

Out came a Kleenex (or perhaps it was a hankie), and he wiped his nose.

The near-capacity audience at the Reunion Arena, which his campaign said totaled 17,000, broke out in a slightly awkward applause.
As charming, sexy, motivating and undoubtedly hopeful as his nose blowing may have been, I'm not sure this is the applause provoking rhetoric we are used to from Obambi (as Malkin calls him). I am truly amazed at the blatant and unashamed sheep-like following Obama has created for himself.

The cult lives.

The "Name One" Game

It looks like Senator Barrack Obama's supporters are still struggling to name any legislative accomplishments. And this time its not just some regular Joe off the street. This time its a Texas State Senator. Role clip:Priceless. This one actually made me laugh.

Politico: Obama Supporters "on the verge of obsession"

Politico's Lisa Lerer's latest article details how even Hollywood has joined the Cult of Obama. Many high profile Americans, including actors and lawmakrs past and present, are now jumping on the bandwagon of hope. If it looks like a cult and acts like a cult...well, you know. As Lisa Lerer puts it, "...when it comes to Obama, hyperbole seems to be the rule, not the exception." Ain't that the truth.

Welcome to the Cult of Barrack Obama.

"This is not a campaign for president of the United States, this is a movement to change the world," - Congressman Elijah Cummings

"He walks into a room and you want to follow him somewhere, anywhere," - Actor George Clooney

"I'll do whatever he says to do...I'll collect paper cups off the ground to make his pathway clear." - Actress Halle Berry (So much for women's rights)

Unfortunately, for those of us not willing to drink the kool aid, there is likely not much we can do to bring these devotees back to reality, try as we might. I said a few weeks ago that Hillary Clinton is the GOP's only hope for holding on to the White House. I am certain that we will lose to Barrack Obama, and blow Hillary Clinton into the desolute political space that is the "also ran" column.

Matt C at Race42008.com has been detailing some of the state by state general election matchups between John McCain and the two Democrats, Obama and Clinton. The outlook is either incredibly victorious or incredibly bleak, depending on which map you're looking at.

McCain vs. Clinton

McCain vs. Obama

Like I said, incredibly bleak.

More On Obama's...er, Duval's Speeches

More video via ROTR giving us more insight into the stolen words of Duval Patrick being used by Barack Obama. The saddest thing about it is that Obama's entire campaign has been based on his rhetoric. And now it turns out some of it isn't even his own. So much for originality and sincerity. Here are the latest clips.
Obama has got some explaining to do. This is not about plagiarism, as many are saying. It is about a man whose campaign has been based on being genuine, sincere, different. It is simply not the case. No that any of this matters to Obama's blind supporters, who know in their hearts the great savior can do no wrong.

Setting up well for Pawlenty

With McCain having essentially wrapped up the nomination, a lot of the attention is now on who he will pick as his running mate. In looking at potential running mates, you will definitely notice a trend with almost all of the picks. Not to copy David Letterman, but here are my top 10 guesses from least likely to most likely:

10. Governor Bobby Jindal (LA)- Jindal is a young charismatic Rhodes scholar who will be the Republican nominee for President one day. However, he has not been in the public spotlight too long and I have a feeling that he feels more of a need to help rebuild Louisiana for the next few years.

9. Former Governor Mitt Romney (MA)- One issue is likely to dog him in McCain's mind: torture. The moment that things turned heated between Romney and McCain was not due to negative advertising, it's because Romney gave a waffling answer during a debate on the issue of torture. I think Romney will help McCain, and may get a spot in his administration or help in some other way (rumors already going around about a possible move to Michigan to run for Governor there).

8. Governor Sarah Palin (AK)- Attractive, young, smart, and experienced enough to go onto the next step in politics. Her main downside is, who really cares about Alaska?

7. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (TX)- I think she is more likely to run for Governor of Texas in the future. If that is not in her future plans, she would be a very good choice for McCain.

6. Governor Hailey Barbour (MS)- A friend of McCain's, shores up social conservatives, and does not have a record to attack. The main disadvantages here is first of all, Barbour is 60 years old. Also, I believe that Barbour really wants to keep helping Mississippi recover from Hurricane Katrina.

5. Senator Elizabeth Dole (NC)- She is probably the most politically experienced female in the nation. She is very well loved by conservatives and moderates, and would likely shore up some states that could potentially become swing states.

4. Former Governor Mike Huckabee (AR)- I predicted a year ago that the Republican ticket would be McCain/Huckabee. If Huckabee would have dropped out after the Potomac sweep, it still would seem very viable. However, he isn't a conservative darling because of his tax record (which is still better than any past Arkansas governors). I see him more likely to be the HHS Secretary.

3. Governor Charlie Crist (FL)- Helped deliver McCain the state of Florida. He's young enough to run after 4 or 8 years, and he's a popular social conservative from a swing state. However, he still has many conservative critics with his views on "right to die", scaled back version of the death penalty, and environmental protections. He also seemed to be running for VP too actively.

2. Governor Mark Sanford (SC)- May have hurt himself politically by not aligning with McCain, instead staying neutral while McCain was in a tough fight. Sanford is also not extremely popular in South Carolina right now. However, he and McCain are good friends and he has a record that is hard for conservatives to argue with.

1. Governor Tim Pawlenty (MN)- In some ways this seems a little too perfect. An early McCain supporter. Solid conservative record as governor. Almost as young as Obama. Popular in the swing state of Minnesota (where the GOP Convention is going to be held). Has fairly modest roots (can't allow Dems to play the doesn't care about the everyman card). If I had to place a bet now, he will be McCain's VP choice.

Romney "Not on the list" for McCain

An unnamed McCain staffer has hinted that the Senator will pick a new face for his running mate. Asked about Mitt Romney, the staffer said "He's not on the list." As for Mike Huckabee, McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis said "I think we have other options to look at vis-a-vis the ticket".

It's beggining to look like the leading veep candidates are Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, and Florida Governor Charlie Crist. Two names have recently been added in the interest of diversity; Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

Hutchinson is likely set on running for Governor of Texas and McCain is not likely to pick a Bush insider as his second in command. A more likely diversity pick would be Sarah Palin of Alaska. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal would bring a lot to the ticket but would likely be seen as too young and inexperienced.

The way things are shaping up, we're probably going to be running two old white guys against a young charismatic African American, a woman, or both. This could be Kennedy-Nixon all over again, but this time with a 20+ year age gap instead of 10.
